At HSU we are all about creating Australia’s best event experiences, and we want to assure you that if you send us your details, we will follow our legal obligations to protect your data. This is our Privacy Policy which explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information provided by you in connection with our festivals and events (the “Services”). We do this in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act.

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy as we see fit. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised policy on our website ‘www.hsuevents.com’. Your continued use of our Services after such modifications is taken as your acceptance of our updated Privacy Policy.

  • Australian Privacy Principles (APPs): Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act that outline how personal information must be collected, stored, used, and disclosed.
  • Personal Data: Any data that, either alone or in combination with other information, can be used to identify an individual.
  • Third Party: Any entity or person (including service providers, contractors, and business partners) that is not part of us and to whom personal information may be disclosed.
  • Service Providers: Third parties engaged by us to perform services on its behalf, including data processing, event management, communications, and technical support.
  • Cookies: Small data files placed on your device when you access our website, which help us collect Usage Information to improve the functionality and user experience of our Services.
  • Check-In Tool: Any authorised mobile application or online service used to collect contact tracing or check-in information in accordance with government directives.

In connection with our festivals and events, we may collect the following Personal Information directly from you:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Date of Birth
  • Postcode
  • Number of tickets you intend to purchase for an event or festival we organise

We also automatically gather Usage Information as you access our website. This is to help us improve our website, and ultimately your experience – but don’t worry, we don’t ask for any payment details or financial information. We do not however collect any sensitive information including any payment information.

3. METHODS OF COLLECTION

We will obtain your Personal Information directly from you through various channels, including but not limited to:

  • Email or telephone inquiries;
  • In-person interactions at our festivals or events

Where it is lawful and practicable, you have the option not to provide personal information; however, please be advised that failure to provide necessary Personal Information may affect our ability to deliver the Services to you.
